The point was that some sites neglect to develop for Firefox, and simply tell Firefox users to get chrome instead. Meanwhile Firefox works in most cases perfectly fine without any doing on the website’s part if it is simply duped into believing that the firefox user is just a plain old chrome user as expected. Doesn’t work for everything, but almost.

Capitalism, as in, the ones with the money own all the things and make more money with the money they already have, is pretty fucking terrible.

That’s what we have now, that’s why governments are corrupted and powerless against the financial interests of the few in the face of ecologic disaster. That’s why we must constantly justify our right to exist by selling out our lifetime for cheap, so we may afford food and shelter for yet another day; why everything gets commodified and turned to shit. Why people go hungry in the face of plenty, why we have homeless and empty homes, why we are in constant wars of greed.

Capitalism is a failed concept, old and long overcome systems of hierarchy and oppression translated to the modern world. Back then it was emperors and kings, now we have global corporations and billionaires who wield more money and power than most lords of old.

Now after that sermon, capitalism is defined through the capitalist class, the private owners of the land, resources, and means of production who have ceased providing value to the system and economy, and exist only off the gains made by their possessions and investments. This is the systemic flaw (by design): wealth and possessions, and with that also power, accumulate in fewer and fewer hands, even over generations through inheritance.

Now not having this class in the economic system would alleviate most issues with a market based economy, which today we know synonymously as capitalism, and could be achieved in various ways, even without a move towards a planned economy such as communism.

That depends a lot on what your culture says counts as nude. The technical term would only apply if they were completely nude, but a bikini may well be considered nude in certain parts of the world where showing hair is considered degenerate by some.

Hell I’d have difficulty defining nakedness myself… to stay with the bikini example, depending on skimpiness it leaves nothing to the onlooker’s imagination. It might as well be a simple layer of color over the intimate regions instead, and then we are essentially talking bodypaint which I would say definitely qualifies as nude in my book, but probably not in a lot of other people’s.

I certainly dont blame them, I just made the switch from windows myself a few months ago and have been amazed by my problem free experience.

Perhaps it isnt as effortless for everyone depending on the hardware, I have to concede, but my experience has been nothing but brilliant. My biggest gripe so far has been that the open source rgb controller needs to be set manually for my keyboard (which isnt much of a gripe really).

Where am I saying that? Just that kids aren’t usually taken aside by their parents and learn about lying and trickery. They figure that out on their own eventually, which doesn’t mean they do not learn from example obviously.

That’s just basic skills of deception. I’d say most kids figure out at some point in their youth that they can make things appear differently for their own advantage.

Be it raiding the fridge in a way their younger brother does it sometimes to get them in trouble, or even more likely, they are at some point at the receiving end of it. Hence most people dont need to be taught deception, the actual disturbing thing to me here is the calculated murderous intent.

I had the same issue when initially coming to Lemmy, and made several accounts before I got so annoyed I did the research and chose an instance specifically for its federation/defederation policies; which led me to where I am now.

Lemmy.zip has defederated only illegal content such as csam and gore, as well as meta because fuck corporate.

I just generally dislike the idea of an arbitrary censorship list being applied to my content feed, I can choose and block myself.
