What happened to abolishing all domestic trade barriers since Carney cannot get a trade with any country?

What do you mean he can’t get a trade with any country? We have CETA, CPTPP, and many other free trade pacts with various countries around the world, 15 FTA in total with others in various degrees of negotiation. Our trade with Britain and Europe has increased substantially since the tariff war began and many Canadian companies are adjusting their supply chains to other markets.

Carney went to UK for deal and came home empty. Is Trump also going to send Carney home empty or will Trump announce an agreement?

We have an intermediate trade deal with UK still in effect, Canada-UK TCA. There is about 2% of trade that we do with the UK that isn’t covered. Trumps deal with the UK is kind of a bullshit deal. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c15ng4g5g0eo

Also we still have the CUSMA trade pact still which Trump signed and lauded as the best trade deal ever, but has since reneged on it. The agreement isn’t supposed to be renegotiated until 2026.
