A proper reconstruction for 20 years or so and baring current elected Republicans from office for life, barring their 1st generation descendants, actually trying traitors with treason this time, bolster the education system, un-gerrymander the voting districts, ensure everyone has easy access to voting, automatically register all citizens to vote, do away with the electoral college, and that should just about take care of it.
What value do red states states bring to the table? I say let them have their shit holes for a while. Maybe that will disabuse them of this idea that cities are useless godless trash fires with no value. Then they can agree to accept first world values and we let them mooch. I want to help those who deserve it but we got into this mess from a hatred of the principles which makes countries decent.
