Madonna ‘Donna’ Kashanian, 64, was taken by plainclothes officers from her home in New Orleans

A 64-year-old Iranian woman, who has lived in the US for 47 years, was detained by immigration agents on Sunday morning while gardening outside her home in New Orleans.

According to a witness, plainclothes officers in unmarked vehicles handcuffed Madonna “Donna” Kashanian and transported her to a Mississippi jail before transferring her to the South Louisiana Ice processing center in Basile, reports Nola.

Kashanian arrived in the US in 1978 on a student visa and later applied for asylum, citing fears of persecution due to her father’s ties to the US-backed Shah of Iran. Her asylum request was ultimately denied, but she was granted a stay of removal on the condition she comply with immigration requirements, a condition her family says she always met.

She left Iran as a child fleeing the persecution of the regime that enriches uranium for a nuclear weapons program.

It’s a complete travesty these ICE thugs may deport this woman to that same regime because they’re trying to meet a fucking quota.

But sure, good joke bro. The Ayatollah is the good guy because US is the bad guy. Ever consider they might both be bad guys and this woman is going to suffer because of it?

I think the previous comment may have added a /s if it was not the fact that, in reality, it may be the American Regime excuse.

What’s the Ayatollah regime’s excuse for beating women to death for showing their hair? That regime may not be the good guys…

Sorry, I didn’t realize this story about an innocent women potentially being deported to a country that beats women to death was intended to be a feel good jokey kind of thread. My mistake, I guess.

No one said it was a “feel good” story. The other person is using sarcasm to cope. Something very common and also shown in other comments of this story.

If you don’t like it, don’t respond. No one is forcing you to provide an opinion on everything. Be less of a dick.

installed by the US? That one?

that enriches uranium for a nuclear weapons program.

No evidence of this. But they will now. And good for them. Attacked by not one, but two international lunatic terrorist regimes, wouldn’t you?

No she was fleeing the current regime, the one that beats women to death for showing their hair.

        No evidence of this.

Only if you ignore the IAEA, how nuclear reactors work, and the fact that none of the uranium enriched in Iran is used in their one nuclear reactor (they use uranium imported from Russia for that) because it’s not suitable for civilian use. You don’t enrich uranium above 5% when it’s for civilian use, LOL.
