      Because the newer models are using ARM64, theyre coded at 16k lines vs 4k lines to the cpu. As a result, devs have to emulate 1/4th the size to get x64 apps to run if they’re not running native. So until emulation improves, the 2019 models are best for gamibg

      For current gen Mac products, Asahi Linux is the go-to arm64 for getting linux on a mac

    I tried installing Linux on my iMac and it was a nightmare. No audio. No WiFi. Apparently Linux doesn’t support 5k displays? And somehow I managed to erase the existing MacOS install. Which was a whole other insane nightmare just getting it reinstalled.

      That’s not surprising, but out of curiosity which Linux on which iMac? I have an old EOL intel iMac currently collecting dust and have considered digging it out and putting CachyOS on it. I don’t know if things have gotten any better, but Macs have long had a reputation for broken networking on Linux.
