We’ve reached a point where, whenever I see someone called a racist, I assume it’s a false accusation - and after reading the article, my suspicion is usually confirmed. The term has been so overused that it’s lost much of its meaning. What he said was needlessly personal and inflammatory, but I don’t see the racism that so many others here seem to.

How brave! You support not being able to question the motives of those in power to be aggressive to those who have less!

He may very well be motivated by racism. I don’t know him so I don’t have an opinion on the matter. My comment is about this specific thing he said where I don’t detect any obvious signs of racism.

“needlessly personal” hmm. I wonder what he was referring to that made it so personal. Hmmmmmmmmm. Was it perhaps his race?

Is it not exactly the other way around? I see so many actual racists that they don’t even feel ashamed anymore. Of course, I call much more people racist because there are way more openly racist people! Stop being racist and then you don’t get called a racist by the public.

The fact there are still people trying to push the 2015 “not all Republican voters are racist” angle is sad. Can we just accept that reality has hit, and that we all know, and just drop the pretence?

Would he have mentioned a beeper if the recipient was a white Christian? It hasn’t lost any of it’s meaning it’s just that some people are incapable or unwilling to recognize it unless it’s backed by a nazi symbol, white hoods, or overt calls for racial violence. Your inability to recognize reality does not mean reality ceases to the exist.

Ofcourse not, but I don’t see how that implies racism.

Ah, so if I go around saying that Japanese people ‘smell of raw fish BECAUSE they are Japanese AND eat dirty raw fish’, I am not being racist, even though I wouldn’t say that to a white person.

How ‘contrarian’ of you, as in ‘contrary to not being ridiculous’.
