Take a look at the content they constantly remove in the mod logs. They can’t stand anyone that backs up their argument factually, yet does nothing but post their copypasta propaganda.
Seriously. Check their removals against the actual rules. Because unless Rule 1 clearly states:

The overwhelming majority of the shit they remove and ban for doesn’t break any rules at all.
I think it’s because .world and .ml are the two largest instances. As nice and and as blissfully peaceful as it would be to defederate from the bad faith rhetoric in .ml, it would be disastrous for lemmy as a whole.
