Honestly good litmus test, if you got a Thinkpad that means somebody seems to listen to IT on what to buy which does bode sort of well for a tech job
I do know a few young people are tech/programming wizards but “generally tech savy” people seem to be declining. It’s either you’re really into it or barely know anything outside popular apps.

This in itself is contradictory but even despite that, there’s 20.000 people left with jobs in the coal industry. You could give everyone over like the age of 50 their pension as if they worked till the regular pension age and then re-train everybody else with very generous benefits for the interrim time of like 5 years and it would be orders of magnitude cheaper than keeping that system rolling.
I feel like as soon in the past as the late 80s this is an entirely uncontroversial statement and should there be somebody to look back on it in a 100 years, the period of roughly 1990 to 2020 where the US pretended to care about democracy is gonna be the weird blip
