Seriously. Gonzaga to take it all!

Seeing back alley abortions be a thing again, not so much.
That’s completely disingenuous. These are clinics being run in the city of Houston, not back alleys.
And you’re not having an honest conversation. You’re pushing why the law should be followed, not discussing the environment created by unjust laws. If you truly didn’t want back alley abortions, you would be defending this person’s right to maintain facilities in the light of day as they have been even in the face of this unjust law.
A bit of schadenfreude should be expected after a decade of listening to the schmucks spouting off “F your feelings” while getting offended that someone chose a different pronoun. That doesn’t mean that forgiveness isn’t possible from one side, but remorse is necessary for forgiveness to be available. That would mean remorse for creating the issue our country is faced with, not just for their personal circumstance. So far that’s all we’ve seen
Hot take, but the GOP has been using the technicality of shitty laws they pass to give cover for your hot take.
Parsing up the fine details of this completely avoidable, ridiculously stupid action taken by Texas officials is important to having an honest conversation
That’s really the issue. Americans have been brainwashed to think civil disobedience is what won their civil rights. The violence, often initiated by the state against the people, is whitewashed as small skirmishes rather than being prevalent in most protests and the resistance to it needs to be prepared.
Agree 100% and it has always been frustrating to see right wing groups get a pass for what boils down to “mild” terrorism. I just think that, given the current US political climate, it’s detrimental to lump the parties together. I’m only a defender of the Dem Party when in contrast to the GOP. Otherwise there’s a litany of grievances I’d aim at them.
That’s a BS “both sides-ism” that can result in people shrugging off the absolute destruction of the operational norms. I wouldn’t argue that the two primary parties are heading in the same direction of fascism. However, there’s a significant difference between the gleeful sprinting towards it by the right as compared to the Dems dragging their feet and enjoying the scenery.
While the 100 year result might be the same if there isn’t systemic change, one side (primarily by inaction) will provide more time to correct course before hitting the iceberg
What a ridiculous level of privilege coming from this completely oblivious meal for the leopards
I think we’re seeing too short term with that perspective. It won’t discourage their loyalty in time for them to do anything about it. By the time they turn on Dear Leader, there will be little recourse to recover the country they once had. Driving out the rural populations so that conglomerates can pick up all the farm land and consolidating people fully into metro areas isn’t a far cry from Hunger Games districts establishing
