I think you mean lods of emone?
I remember that the foot and mouth outbreak in the UK was a lab accident, procedure failed and a lot of bovine were culled and some people died in truly horific ways.
I don’t understand why it’s so political to say that it’s likely that covid may have had a similar start. It happens, it’s terrible, it’s not helpful when you’re directly fighting it to focus your energy on blame but if this was a lab leak, shouldn’t we now be focused on tightening regulations on bio-experimentaion in order to reduce the risk of this occurring again? Global treaties on how to approach such research, share procedure to keep everyone safe.
I’ve made my peace with this. I cried a bit playing through thr anniversary edition and reflected on what could’ve been. I think I’m ok with there never being anything more, I would welcome a book or a comic though.
I thoroughly enjoyed black mesa but I don’t think it improved the game. I think it’s a pretty unbalanced experience with a lot of the original atmosphere replaced with pretty textures. I also think the xen levels were extremely unfaithful to the original and devoid of a lot of the original meaning, but again visually stunning.
I’d advocate for getting one. Last year 70% of my gaming was on the deck, it really has shifted my attitude towards gaming.
Ah that is pretty cool, I’ve never tried any mods at all. From time with FO3 and FNV I’d spend more time installing mods than playing the game haha.
I think the thing about Time Master there is that I’d abuse the heck out of pausing time. I think the perfect bit would be pausing it during certain times, so you still have the limitation there, just a lot softer. Perhaps just doubling the time would be enough for that.
Oh is there a mod where you only “spend” time when actually doing an action like farming? Not just travelling and talking?
Lamenting the raising of prices is absolutely fair, but every industry goes through this. I cycle a lot, and there’s a strong base of people that are deeply upset at the cost of the bikes the pros are using. It used to be that almost anyone could buy the model bike that won the Tour de France, where they’d go for £1,200-1,500, full spec and all. Now Pogačar’s Colnago V4Rs cost $8,215 for the base model, likely closer to $12,000 for a fully spec’d version. I just think that this is happening everywhere as things get more and more optimized. You have to dig deeper and deeper to eek out those gains.
Think of the sheer amount of time, effort, and hardware that goes into AI features and such. Upscaling and frame generation need a lot of data to be processed to make it viable, and the cost of the cards will have to offset this research cost.
The only thing that maybe leans towards it being somewhat greed driven was the audio edits they made in their presentation, but again, I still just don’t think that’s enough to say “this is greed” or not. Is selling at a profit at all “greedy”?
I can’t find anything about the cost for them to produce each unit, ya got some inside info you wanna share?
There was, but now I’m getting older and more tired
I’ve wondered this for a while, is a car dependant society creating a general senae of selfishness?
Like if you walk everywhere, I feel your behaviour will be rounded out via interactions with others, but in a car you’re removed from seeing the human effect your actions have, it allows you to detach your humanity because it happens outside your cage, you’re only concerned for what’s happening inside thr cage.
Not everyone obviously, cycling around the overwhelming majority of drivers are all good, but as a general trend I do wonder
That’s not very AI singularity of you
::: spoiler I went fairly hard down the espresso rabbit hole, lelit Mara x v2, niche zero, handful of accessories. I like it, but it 100% isn’t as the aesthetic portrays. It’s more comppicated and the learning curve is steep. You may luck into a few good pulls, but it just takes time.
I don’t regret it, but I still absolutely love a V60 brew. With espresso I find myself rushing the process to get a coffee. The ritual of a pour over never left me feeling more irritated than when I started.
Your list of worries are a lot lower as well, am I scaling up to inside, do I need to lubricate my cams, how dirty is it under thr shower screen, etc… :::
Damn, ya got there before me.
I feel this is a hobby where people can get into obsessing about all the toys and trinkets. From the outside I assume it looks really embarrassing haha
I’m sorry you went through that, and I’m certainly not tying to downplay the experience of anyone having gone through such events. I hope if Sam’s sister did experience these things that she has the full support of her family.
I don’t know the details of the savage lawsuit honestly, but often settling is far cheaper than a long drawn out fight. There was thr court case against Andy Baio by the photographer who took the photos that was used on Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue album. Andy settled out of court and put out this statement discussing it.
Not to say Adams or Sam’s stories are at all related to their case, but these things are extremely imperfect with guilty parties often going on to reoffend leaving further damage in their wake.
I still believe that hating ai based on “guilt by association” may weaken the perceived position, even if the criticism and accusations are absolutely warranted and deserved.
Wasn’t Adam savage accused of a similar thing?
I’m not a huge fan of AI, but I dunno if jumping on anything that could paint one of the CEO"s in a negative light is the best approach. I feel the anti-ai position will lose credibility if in the future these accusations are disproven, similar to Adam Savage’s accusations.
I do this on my intranet with home assistant, looks like I flew just under the radar
