  • I see you added two paragraphs so let me respond to those separately.

You’re making a lot of assumptions about my environment. I’m using an Android app, and I see no archive link options anywhere. Nor do I even browse my “home” instance, it was just an arbitrary choice to make an account there.

12ft.io doesn’t even work on most websites for me. I’ve tried, but it would always break the page or just give me an error.

Lastly, only OP can put an archive link in the body. So even if I archived something and shared the link, it’s still less accessible than OP including a link in the body.

  • Much appreciated. Now I have access to the quote:

“We have received feedback from customers that several reboots (as many as 15 have been reported) may be required, but overall feedback is that reboots are an effective troubleshooting step at this stage."

So fuck the headline, the real message is: yes, rebooting is an effective troubleshooting step at the moment.

I don’t know the exact timing of that message in the timeline of the incident, so it could be early “please restart and see if issue persists” or late “something was updated, rebooting will probably help”, I don’t know.

Idk any tech support communities, but you should try booting into BIOS to see if your storage drive is detected. If not, it probably failed (read: it’s dead, fam)

You could try to see if you can reinstall the OS but if the BIOS doesn’t detect the drive, I doubt the OS setup will.

While the data loss will suck, a new drive isn’t very expensive. Plus if you’re still on a HDD, it would be a good time to replace it with an SSD.
