  • In other words, this post is bollocks.

I don’t know, after reading through that AI slob of an article it says a good amount to add while still retaining sufficient strength after curing is between 0,1 to 0,5% sugar.

So let’s assume that more than 1% gets you into trouble, that’s still a lot, but sticking to your 18 tons concrete truck example - 180kg of sugar will ruin a whole truckload of concrete.

I think I could smuggle 180kg of sugar into a concrete truck without anyone noticing until it’s too late.

I’d say with enough people and dedication the story in the post could be true, not super likely but also not impossible.

The meme talks about 2014 to 2022, your sub stack post about 2021 to 2025, so one is talking about the conflict leading up to the full invasion by Russia, the other is talking about what happened after the Russian invasion. They are closely related but not the same.

    • Political labels are pointless. Because the meaning changes depending on the perspective of the person giving the definition.

Words do have meaning, political labels included, changing meaning of them depending on the context is usually a sign of dishonest arguments. ‘Left’, ‘right’, ‘progessive’ ’ conservative’ and the like are defined terms that carry meaning. People trying to change those are most often trying to shift the perception of reality, for example calling Hitler ’ left wing’ is clearly revisionist nonsense trying to white wash their own agenda.

    • “Conservatives” ala Donald Trump, MAGA, Ted Cruz. Would be better described as "Regressives ". (Because they pine for time that didn’t really exist in the 20th Century).

From Wikipedia: Conservatism has varied considerably as it has adapted itself to existing traditions and national cultures.[…] Conservatism may be either libertarian or authoritarian,[14] populist or elitist,[15] progressive or reactionary,[16] moderate or extreme.[17]

Simply put ‘Conservative’ is just the family name, the currently governing conservative flavor in the US you could call regressive, true, but in other areas of the world you might not. Edit: reading back I realized, that was what you were saying already

    • Dismissive terms are all that you need to sway the opinion of a trumper (call something “woke” and BAM!. You’ve convinced them.).

No argument here. Punchlines are always easy especially if they meet frustrated minds.

    • All USA media talking heads (specifically talking about podcasters and news shows, not talking about non verbal). Are propaganda which its users are addicted to. (Outrage addiction)

It’s a lot more complicated than that I’d say, but a lot of it fits the description, fair enough.

    • The word “Christian” is now synonymous with hate and bigotry. I’ve made the distinction to now call people who are religious (Christianity) “Followers of Christ”.

Similar to the first point ‘Christian’ is just the family name, I think what you’re trying to describe are ‘Christian nationalists’, with emphasis on nationalist.

  • But I have to say, I don’t think Ben is stupid, at least not in the same way stupid as Stevie is. Ben knows what he is doing, Steven doesn’t even seem to understand that. Like Ben Shapiro in a deposition would probably be more like the Paul Joseph Watson one.

Actually I think of all the depositions, Crowder is the stupidest of the bunch, they all walk into traps and give up way too much information on their own volition but at least most of the time they realize it? Sometimes you can almost hear them thinking ‘fuck, walked right into it’, Crowder doesn’t even understand what’s happening.

Honestly all of the depositions are super interesting, seeing those characters outside their comfort zone is a) very revealing and b) soooo satisfying. With the exception of dr David Jones none of them know when to just shut the fuck up.

Like Jordan says - if I am ever being questioned in a deposition 99% of my answers would be ‘yes’, ‘no’ or ‘I don’t know’ - it’s not that complicated.

  • A very recent Knowledge fight episode deals with Steven Crowders deposition in the Allen Mass shooting case. Crowder misidentified the shooter as a different Mauricio Garcia, showing the wrong picture, who sued him for defamation.

The main takeaway is - Steven Crowder is not very smart, one might say he is really dumb, not in a derogatory way, it’s just an observation, but he fails to grasp some basic concepts.

For example - the photo Crowder showed of the alleged shooter was a mugshot. The plaintiffs lawyer asks him - “it was reported, that the shooter had no prior convictions or arrests and he died at the scene of the shooting, meaning there could not have been a booking photo of him, so the photo you had, must’ve been the wrong photo, correct?”

Despite the lawyer walking him through that question multiple times, step by step, he does not understand the question.

He also tries his “debate me, bro” techniques multiple times and always walks into a wall with that, it’s embarrassing. Like after the first couple of times you should realize this shit flies if you debate college students on a campus, but not with a lawyer, who not only does this shit for a living, but has prepared himself for weeks if not months for this session, but nope, Crowder keeps on trying his bullshit.

I highly recommend the episode, knowledge fight “Formulaic Objections part 18”. All the Formulaic Objections episodes are great, especially #3, Roger stone, is hilarious.
