I’m far from a cop lover but I can see how it feels on the other side of a rolled up window where you can’t see what’s going on and the person inside’s being non-compliant. Don’t fuck around and talk shit while rolling up your tinted window when a cop pulls you over. People in this country are strapped up. Especially in a concealed carry state like Florida that is full of insane people. Cops are on edge for a reason when they’re doing a traffic stop. If I did what Tyreek Hill did, I’d fully expect to be asked to step out or pulled out of my car

Excessive use of force by the cop who clearly wanted to escalate. Tyreek Hill also wasn’t being smart in the way that was handled. We already know how paranoid and trigger happy law enforcement can be. People like to act tough on the internet, but I wouldn’t DARE roll up tinted windows during a police stop knowing how shit could escalate. I’m trying to have them see my hands at all times. That’s exactly the kind of shit that can happen when you’re just trying to get home safe. Whatever it is, it’s not worth it.

It’s already a crazy hard hike but if you’re gonna do it in the summer, you gotta start the hike at night. Like start at midnight. Sleep, then hike back up same time. But then you gotta sleep in the day, which - I dunno how you would in that kind of heat. It’s just fucked. I would only do it in the spring or fall. Even April’s pushing it.

Right! Long-term care sucks for a myriad of reasons - low pay, chronic short staffing, physical demand, dealing with combative demented patients, wiping asses all day. But if you PAY people enough, they will work it.

It depends on the documentation and these hospitals know how to protect themselves. Use of restraints REQUIRES justification; it’s drilled into all the staff. He’s got no shot

Then he says he’s famous too so the doctor was like oh ok, grandiose delusional. Check, check, and check. I’m not surprised. There’s all kinds of fucked up backstories like this once you start digging. There are very unhinged people out there who get warnings, get put on admin leave, maybe transferred. Very difficult to fire if local govt and unions are involved. And you bet your ass they protect each other because that means selfishly protecting themselves and the entire department.

I sort of feel sorry for the paramedics in the sense that they were too complacent and should have told the cops “no” when they tried to dictate patient care (as in, ‘you need to sedate this dangerous person’). I work in healthcare too, so I’m familiar with cops trying to dictate medical care and the importance of advocating for your pt when that happens. It can be intimidating to tell a cop to fuck off, but sometimes you have to do it. If nothing else, it’s your ass on the line.
