Unfortunately, most of the cases that people latch on to as unfair killings turn out to be completely justified. People yell and scream the day after and then when the body came footage shows that the guy was trying to kill a cop everybody just quietly forgets.
Also, have you forgotten the saying an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind? Killing somebody because they’re related to somebody that hurt you is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
Certainly that makes it okay for his dad to run over a random retiree because he was angry, right?
His son was shot fleeing from police with a firearm after pointing it at cops and he decides to run into some retired cop directing traffic that was completely uninvolved. What a piece of shit.
Both are wrong. It would take much much more money, and the “vocal minority”, the more visible homeless, are definitely unwell. That doesn’t mean there’s many times more normal people living on the street in need of help. Hasn’t California alone spent over $20 billion trying to cure homelessness and they’re kind of top of the heap thanks to their climate being conducive to outdoor living.
There is a severe lack of long term care facilities for the mentally ill. We just closed them down one day and threw the insane on the street. That’s a huge part of the visible problem for sure. Not to say there aren’t countless “homeless by circumstance” people that need housing. The “homeless by choice” is definitely a problem also.
I’m saying that it doesn’t matter at all what the content of the speech was. Free speech is free speech. No government censorship or reprisals should be tolerated.
I hate how they always mention they’re trying to tie Pro-Palestinian activities with antisemitism. Antisemitism isn’t fucking illegal.
Their base doesn’t care. They move from topic to topic and focus on the latest outrage of the week. Just like everybody else. This is not exclusive to the conservatives, and pointing it out to anybody will not change their mind in the slightest.
If all or most of them are armed and prepared to use it. Just larping with a gun doesn’t make you difficult to oppress.
It really seems like it’s human nature to call out bullshit when you see it on your opposing side and then do mental gymnastics when it gets applied to you.
Just a bit more than “faster than the speed limit”.
