We are talking about individuals choosing for themselves, before they die. If you choose not to share when you pass, why would you be prioritised over someone who was willing?
Genuinely held beliefs or not, religion and spirituality have no role to play in the survival of a community system.

Assume it’s like cigarettes in NZ, if you’re born after X year you are automatically opted in - but you or your guardian can opt out at any time.
If the spirituality and wholeness of body is significant to a cultural group, by all means they can opt out. But the default should benefit the majority, with provisions for the minority.
Currently dying to death on account of “just one more conversation” in Baldur’s Gate last night. Probably doesn’t help that it was the two nights before the that, too.
Not really so far as I understand it. “Bipolar swings” are more commonly on a week-month timescale.

I have been in a similar position in the past. We are in a better place now and sober - what came out of my partner at their worst is not reflective of their true feelings, it was reflective of the traumatic environment they were raised in.
I hope things get better for you.
