Thanks, I wasn’t aware of it. I edited the description to include it now :)

Oh, thanks! I tried using it but I must be doing something wrong, I can do it for sharing communities but not posts from it however your link worked
By the way Fedecan (nonprofit behind lemmy.ca and sh.itjust.works) is already hosting a PieFed instance you can confirm here , its piefed.ca
Your instance is already hosting a PieFed instance on the side you can confirm here , its piefed.blahaj.zone
Yes, it is. You can be confused when checking it out because it not only allows you to navigate communities individually like on Lemmy but also bundle of communities for a single feed by topic or custom feeds created by others (likw how people can bundle a list of profiles for its own custom feed on Bluesky, but instead you do it with communities on PieFed)
Communities (Lemmy) = Communities (PieFed)
Topics (PieFed) = by so far what I understood its created by the instance usually and by default when self-hosting your own it will have some topics already organized with feed from communities related to the topic title
Feed (PieFed) = user & instance custom built feed of communities (Lemmy or PieFed) bundled together into a single feed and easily shareable with others
You can check the PieFed instance list here , some Lemmy instances are alreqdy starting to host a PieFed instance on the side too I just dont see lemmy.zip instance for PieFed there yet which is piefed.zip but you can check the others in the notes by the side of their address
I’m not a regular follower but Louis Rossmann does similar videos but not all the same subjects (however tech-only too) and he talks more coherently at first impression
thanks i wasnt aware of such person i noticed he posts some interesting things so i’ll keep an eye on him although im still too early to judge him at least on the Librefox video he seems rather childish on how he talks for someone complaining of a dev stance to then see target audience people in the comments talking about using Brave is pretty lame, if they were going to something like Ladybird (not ready for endusers yet) or Konqueror or Falkon it’d make more sense, I also watched the video about the BSDCan and it just gave me the wrong impression of him or hes really childish for my taste though I’ll try watching his other videos when I can to be sure I’m maybe not misjudging him
if you are interested in subscribing to blogs from Blogspot, on Fediverse, you could do that by adding /feeds/posts/default at the end, on Friendica
what do you use now? i particularly like LibreFox but im not aware of controversies surround it if there are
TheVerge covered it nicely
PieFed becoming a lot more akin to an evolved Reddit than Lemmy lately with the recent updates
AFAIK there was another exodus after they announced to be training AI based on Reddit content, another when they went public, another for starting heavily censoring more the platform (some people a while ago were getting banned just for saying Luigi or upvoting posts with it)
PieFed has wikis and flairs for communities, Feed feature similar to how people can create their own custom feeds on Bluesky and Topics feature to browse content by subject, you can filter posts by keywords (Lemmy has it too but not on the default interface), warning label by the side of the name of people with too many negative karma/points/reputation to make it easier to spot trolls and some other fun things if you ever want to try it out although theres no mobile app for iOS afaik yet if thats a dealbreaker for you, but theres for android https://codeberg.org/freamon/pferd/
Good choice, its a lot better IMO it just takes getting used to how to browse around specific communities if you are searching for one from when you were on Lemmy but so far everything else is better, just missing TOTP 2FA but its not critically urgent for now anyway. Take that as I dont moderate communities though I’m not very aware of the differences of moderation of communities between PieFed and Lemmy
That would be Pixelfed , maybe you just confused the names :)
If you are looking for fediverse Facebook, theres Friendica but in that case I find Friendica better if you’re going to selfhost for you and your friends to use for having a different use case, also supports bridging with plenty of Fediverse platforms and Fediverse-friendly platforms like Bluesky and even pull RSS Feeds into your feed, its quite the tool if you are willing to selfhost or any of your friends IRL are
