The “Ice Master” ice maker in my Samsung RF28K9380SR broke about a year after I bought it.
I removed the moving parts of the ice maker component and just left it that way. There’s constant ice buildup on the remaining cooling rod, but I can easily defrost that with a steam wand twice a year.
We got a countertop ice maker to make the ice and then store it in the tray where the ice used to go. Not ideal, but it works. Needless to say, I won’t be buying a Samsung fridge again.
