Matrix has better moderation features, if that is what you mean.

But personally I know no Matrix client that is reasonably responsive, all slow goo that is a pain to use. Signal is not optimal at all, but Matrix is kinda worse.

I think XMPP or SimpleX (very different approaches) are better here. XMPP better suited for public groups where you need spam protection
