Arguably access to technology should make it easier than ever to report crimes.

Kids should not have candy, that shit is for adults
“Only FDA-approved substances will be allowed” (but we’re not going to do any testing so go wild!)
I mean, it might be as simple as “my alternative conservative candidate is no longer in the running”. It could take a lot of diving into the stats to figure out the actual cause and effect.
I believe pixart sigma is more open. The community hasn’t rallied around it though.
Edit: Fuck yes, pixart is AGPL!
Of course it helps. Sure, the first election wouldn’t see much change, but RCV emboldens third parties to exist and would give them a viable path towards displacing the establishment. Right now there is NO path.
That’s not exactly true, the manufacturing quality of LEGO has gone down in recent years after moving much of the manufacturing to China. For example, you’ll find more parts with ejection marks in them today than you used to.
Ironically there are a few good Chinese knockoff brands with superior quality now.
That’s starting to not be true. Several of the brands out of China have better manufacturing quality than LEGO these days.
It’s mostly Tesla and Twitter that he’s wrecking, but yeah Shotwell does sometimes rescue SpaceX from terrible ideas he has, like canceling Falcon Heavy.
No, that’s counterproductive because the government uses those services. Instead, the government could confiscate his stock in those companies.
Unfortunately, all the problems that exist in the population also exist for legislators. Turns out they are extremely vulnerable as well!
I know people shit on those bots that repost content from Reddit and other places, but it’s a really simple way to bootstrap content on Lemmy. I think if we want to win we need to be open to that.
Probably no, unless it turns out to have more porn than non-porn. Which could definitely happen!
(And with a site name like X, probably should happen.)
It’s advertising more than AI for me. Everything you do in Windows is monetized by selling your preferences to advertisers. Shameful.
Locally run AI could be great. But sending all your data to an external server for processing is really, really bad.
Yeah I’m not pretending I’ve thought deeply about my proposed system. But the people at very least deserve the ability to have a direct hand in legislation. Politicians are not scared enough of their electorate.
Our elected representatives aren’t specialists with deep domain knowledge either. Ideally you have specialists in a specific role as drafters of legislation, administrative people appointed to filter through the bills, but the final vote goes to the people instead of Congress. That way you don’t get fiascos like abortion rights where you have a small group of people controlling us despite overwhelming support.
Honestly with the internet, we might be able to live in the first technologically viable direct democracy. I’d be curious to see a proposal for how that could be implemented.
Honestly, dating apps are one of the cases for a federated system. Use whatever frontend you want, no one person owns the backend so they can’t sleazily monetize you. Probably would need to be a bit more cryptographic than something like lemmy or mastodon though.
They’re not stranded because the part of the capsule that isn’t working has multiple redundancy and is intended to burn up on reentry anyway.
Starliner is perfectly capable of leaving the ISS whenever they want, but they would be unable to continue collecting data on the thruster shutoff (again, because it would burn up in the atmosphere).
