simple@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Do instances exist where you can be 13+?English101·2 days agoAt least on something like Instagram they’d be around people their age and not a mostly older men demographic posting about politics 24/7 like the Fediverse is.
simple@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What happens to the content if an Lemmy instance shuts down?English23·2 days agoExactly, yes.
Is there any indication for the lemmy.world people to notice that the instance hosting the community is gone?
I don’t think there is but I remember the lemmy devs saying they’ll add a warning at some point when a community can’t be reached.
simple@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What happens to the content if an Lemmy instance shuts down?English44·2 days agoDo all the other Lemmy instances keep a copy of the content from lemm.ee?
Yes, but it only keeps text and links, any images uploaded to lemm.ee will be lost. Any community in lemm.ee will still be visible but nobody outside of your instance will see anything you post there so they’re effectively dead.
The next update after this one should be the official release out of early access, I can’t wait!
The trailer also shows the extreme measures counterpart for Hades 2 (powered up bosses), and wow they look more punishing than the first game. The third boss being surrounded by lava will be a nightmare.
Multiple new scylla songs too, Supergiant are spoiling us.
The art isn’t even the biggest issue, the playtest was already reviewing poorly before everybody discovered the art was stolen.
simple@piefed.socialto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Do instances exist where you can be 13+?English381·2 days agoI’m going to be real, the Fediverse is not where you want young teens and kids to be. A lot of extreme opinions are floating around, and the Fediverse still has the occasional spamwave which could contain NSFW content.

simple@piefed.socialto Gaming@lemmy.world•I can't tell if times have changed or not anymoreEnglish3·3 days agoBefore when someone was toxic we would just permaban them from our servers, but modern games don’t want to lose customers so people that say slurs just get a slap on the wrist.

The good news is that they’re only banning consoles from playing online, not bricking them like many said they would.
Where’s my main man toutius sextius?
simple@piefed.socialto Games@lemmy.world•Prince of Persia remake apparently still on track for 2026, per UbisoftEnglish8·3 days agoStill weird that this was supposed to release a few months after announcenent then got internally canned and totally restarted development.

simple@piefed.socialOPto Games@lemmy.world•MindsEye Becomes 2025’s Worst-Rated Game As Reviews Creep InEnglish10·4 days agoFrom what I’ve seen, it’s the latter. It’s a very mediocre GTA clone that’s full of bugs and is very forgettable in every way. The writing is also very bad.
simple@piefed.socialOPto Games@lemmy.world•BattleBit - Operation Overhaul: Teaser TrailerEnglish29·4 days agoOr the developers created a roadmap of updates in 2024 for their early access game then disappeared without any warning and didn’t deliver on their promises. It’s not the end of the world but writing negative reviews because the developers didn’t deliver isn’t entitlement.
simple@piefed.socialto PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Gamers Are Reportedly Skipping GPU Upgrades Due to Soaring Prices — Paying Bills Takes Priority Over Chasing NVIDIA’s RTX 5090English491·5 days agoUnfortunately gamers aren’t the real target audience for new GPUs, it’s AI bros. Even if nobody buys a 4090/5090 for gaming, they’re always out of stock as LLM enthusiasts and small companies use them for AI.
simple@piefed.socialto Games@lemmy.world•Why are people gurgling the switch 2 so hard?English17·5 days agoWho are “people” in this scenario because I haven’t seen a single person claim Cyberpunk is running at 60fps or the Switch can output 4k 120fps.
simple@piefed.socialto Games@lemmy.world•PC Gaming’s Mascot Squad—who makes the cut?English14·5 days agoMost that you included aren’t really associated with PC anymore though. Geralt, Doomguy, Vault boy, BJ Blazkowicz etc are very popular on consoles too. The only one I would say qualifies for real would be Gordon Freeman, since half-life is usually referred to as one of the great PC classics.
simple@piefed.socialOPto Games@lemmy.world•Sony PlayStation finally gets rid of PC game region locks after an entire year — but some still remainEnglish16·6 days agoI noticed this earlier when Helldivers 2 appeared on my Steam page out of nowhere. It really is about time.
Most of the launch titles are old ports sold at full price. The article only references physical sales and again most of these games don’t even have game data on the cartridge which completely ruins the point of a physical release.
