Make sure you start that new bar before the old one gets too small, so you can incorporate that tiny bit into the new one and don’t accidentally drop it down the drain
Gotta merge them soaps!
There was a soap specifically designed to merge with the old bar. New bars are molded in such a way to socket onto the old bar. I don’t know what to search to find it again.
Wont the soaps just lose shape by the time they are to be put into a socket of the new bar?
If you’re anything like me, you wait until the old bar is less than 1/8" before introducing a new one and trying to fuse them together. This was designed to go together when the bar was like 1/2" thick so you never end up with a sliver of soap.
I’m half remembering this from years ago; it may have been a kickstarter or something. You’d buy bars of soap that had a concave top that the old bar would plug into. And I cannot for the life of me find this again.
I don’t know if it’s the brand that I’ve been using, but they haven’t been merging properly, even when I compress them well.
This is the way.

Soap bar was looking skinny but I thought it would last awhile longer.
Went to take a shower this morning and found someone else had replaced it so, decision made I guess!
If you really want to stretch your soap bars out, you can get small bags that collect small bits of soap. Cheap hosiery also works great (if don’t want to be seen buying it, order the cheapest set off Amazon). These are great for camping!
I’ve had some in the middle was almost like plastic.
Yeah what’s up with that. It’s like trying to squeeze blood from a rock getting small bars to lather let alone fuse with any new bar.
