The National Retail Federation expects U.S. imports to drop at least 20% in the second half of the year if tariffs continue at their current levels
After watching the tariff documentary from (of all channels) Gamers Nexus and Hyte’s pricing breakdown showing prices will actually balloon to closer to 300% of current MSRP I fully expect Dollar Tree to either become Five Dollar Tree or go out of business with a quickness.
They’ll just make even smaller bottles. You’ll be able to buy a single detergent pod for a $1.
I think it was John Oliver who did a segment on dollar stores being the scavengers in a dying economy. They might thrive here
Not if they have nothing to sell
Mark my words: we’re gonna get updated images of 1980s soviet grocery stores with empty shelves. then he’ll visit moscow and revel at how well-stocked their shelves are. come on, y’all, we’ve been here before.
Next thing you know, he’ll be tearing down the border wall.
there is one sentence you’ll hear from just about everyone up here: “I will die Canadian.”
edit - i just realized you’re talking about the other border, and that thought is fucking hilarious. i’m putting it on my bingo card.
