Israel has violated a ceasefire at least 3 times. They Blockes off AId, killed Journalist, even kidnapped one and returned it without Organs. But you think a human rights activist that most right wingers consider a Terrorist will somehow make headlines?
The problem reaches far beyond the far right. All the “center” or “progressive” political powers in the west are complicit to various degrees. From the German Greens to the US Democrats, enabling genocide is the political reality of people who otherwise claim to be for human rights, sustainability and other progressive causes. Now so far the genocide was mostly against brown people, so these kind of self perceived progressives were able to delude themselves as their unacknowledged racism guided them. Now if “one of them” is murdered. A white Swedish young women, who their sons and daughters see as a role model, who the “liberal” press used to praise… It will force the realization upon them, that they too are targeted in this genocide and the genocide will not stop at brown people.
She is insanely clever, courageous, and selfless playing chicken with the state of Israel like this. She knows that either she succeeds in delivering aid to Palestine, or her death sparks a backlash that could be the tipping point for the rest of the world to get off their ass and do something.
I have a lot of respect for her and the people doing this. But I wish they wouldn’t. This sounds like a Suicide Mission.
