Yes, and ownership is predominantly with those who want to kill/ deport immigrants. In the US, there are ~120.5 guns per 100 people. However, this statistic is misleading, because you might expect most people to have 1 gun, and a few people to have more than one to get to that statistic. However, most households do not have a fire arm.
So the average gun-owner, actually owns from 4-8 guns, while the majority of Americans own 0 guns. We have a culture of gun-obsessed rightwing psychopaths.
Its always interesting and telling how people respond to things. Your assumption that I don’t own a fire arm tells me more about you than it ever would myself.
I’m really sorry if you’re having a bad day, but I’m glad you’ve made the choice to own the means of defending yourself and your loved ones.
My assumption came from the fact that so many people who point out that the fash have all the guns, also seem to be the first ones to support legislating guns out of their own hands. Why did that lead you to respond in such an angry manner? Seems like we agree on way more than we disagree on.
Why did that lead you to respond in such an angry manner?
I think you need to take a breath and check to see if you’ve made any correct assumptions whatsoever in this conversation. The tone of my response couldn’t be more sanguine.
As a non-right wing, non-psychopath, I’m uncomfortable with the idea of owning a gun at all.
I don’t want one in my home and I don’t want one on my person. Even if I did purchase one and ended up using it to protect myself, the knowledge that I took a human’s life would be too much for me to live with.
The majority of voters who cast a valid ballot voted for him, what do you even do with those people? You get rid of their leader, another take their place. The military took an oath to the constitution, that included recognizing the results of elections, regardless of if they are a fascist. The US isn’t a Defensive Democracy like modern day Germany, we aren’t getting rid of them until the next election, that is, if there ever is a next election.
Greetings from Germany. Maybe you want to skip everything that happens from now on and end this before this lunatic takes office.
On a unrelated topic: aren’t you the nation with the most guns?
Don’t forget the German police murdered JStark in 2021.
Google says he had a heart attack.
It also says that he had the heart attack in a police car while in police custody. Sounds rather convenient, don’t you think?

And your knowledge of this hasn’t ever led you to the conclusion that maybe more people who aren’t right wing psychopaths should have guns?

The problem there is the government already has most of the guns and are very, very willing to use them.
When was the last time the military used the guns against its population?
Wounded Knee (the second one not the original one) was 1973.
Kent State in '70. The Bonus Army (homeless WWI vets) in the 30s. Blair Mountain (coal miners on strike) and the Tulsa Race Massacre in '21.
Only a half dozen times in the last 100 years or so.
Every day, when the militarized police kill innocent people extrajudicially.
That baby was coming right for 'em.
54 years, I think?
The dumb part is they’re also targeting the people who they trained to be killers
The majority of the gun owners are also right wing Trumpers.
