We also need to ask why the fuck are we throwing money at people that are ‘planning on’ having a relief effort (as a form of self-promotion, clearly–if he cared that much to help he would have found a way) instead of having a relief effort for the sake of helping people that need help??
Puerto Rico is part of America for some reason so i have to assume they’re entitled to aid. But I’m sure when PR signed the contract there was probably some gotcha hidden in there that allows America to refuse to help or some other slimy bullshit, lol.
Is this really where the future of disaster relief is headed? Whoever decides to make a vanity project out of the reconstruction gets government funding? 🤡
Just a quick reminder that, last time he was president, Trump withheld disaster relief funding from democrat-led states. So yes, disaster relief funding is a huge issue which should be standardized and not based on whim, but here we are.
