I honestly think the democrats are done for after this. There’s gonna be a ton who will vote for them as a reaction to Trump but their complete unwillingness to actually put any effort into meaningful resistance is obvious even on some of the liberal bastions on Reddit. There’s always justifications or just plain stupid fucking solutions.
(One I’m seeing is trying to get Newsom to run for president and if that happens you might wanna save me some space in that closet)
I’m convinced Newsome is the next candidate. And unfortunately he’s exactly what liberals want so they won’t budge about his election at all.
I disagree that the dems are finished simply because I don’t think Americans are gonna support any alternative parties within the next 4 years.
I’d say the Dems are finished in a couple more cycles but not quite yet. There’s enough liberal true believers that still exist who will make it their mission to tank alternatives to the dems rather then combat Republicans.
