This came up on my feed. I got about a minute in. When the first MAGA started spewing the bullshit with that “I automatically know better because I googled a thing one time”, I had to shut it off.

I made it to the guy arguing that government agencies must pay taxes… to themselves… for reasons. 😂 I lost too many brain cells listening to stupid.
My hat’s off to Sam Seder for going through this, and to Michael Ian Black for watching the first 2/3rds of it before turning it off in disgust. I couldn’t even make it all the way through a clip of that dipshit proclaiming confidently that government organizations obviously do pay taxes and get a tax discount because of DEI, duh.
I have realized over the past couple of years that I am a fundamentally angry person. But in reflecting on it, I wasn’t always this way. The last 18 years or so of right-wing influencers, the Tea party, and MAGA have bit by bit eroded me to the point that I am now just bitter and angry all the time at what these fucking troglodytes have managed to do to this country, and to a larger extent, this world.
I mean, the me from 18 years ago would never have guessed that the people in the UK would be so stupid as to leave the EU and elect a fucking clown to see it happen. I wouldn’t have guessed that the Brazilians would elect a guy who ran on the platform of cutting and burning down the Amazon and converting the land into cattle ranches. I wouldn’t have guessed that pretty much every EU country would shift dramatically to more right-wing policies, and that the vast majority of those policies would be really fucking stupid and short-sighted.
I’m not a conspiracy theory-minded person, but I have to imagine that if aliens visited Earth and sprinkled some alien virus into the air or water that had the effect of making everybody it infected profoundly stupid, the results would look very similar to what we see today.
I lost my faith in America in middle school on September 11, 2001.
I was a bright kid, and I knew what it meant when seemingly the entire country embraced jingoism and declared national enemies before the dust could settle.
Anger is the what made people vote for Trump. The feeling of injustice was used by these fascists, the left has to bring back the anger on the side of those who want social justice.

It’s infuriating listening to someone try to be condescending while also being objectively wrong.
I think people who think that you can reach magas in any meaningful way suffer from the incorrect belief that people are fundamentally good and decent. We are not, as a species, altruistic or decent to one another. Look at all of recorded history. The evidence is quite the contrary. These folks are viciously clamoring to create pain and suffering. They relish in it, and it brings them immense joy. These people are the roving mobs committing massacres during Europes plagues.
I don’t even need to look at history. There’s always some asshole doing some asshole shit on the streets, in the stores, at the movie theater, in the comments sections, in executive boardrooms, in patrol cars, in churches, in schools. People everywhere dead-set on having it their way so fuck everyone else.
