Well they don’t have to show up as hashtags to users on Lemmy, they can show up as their own designated tags you add to the post on creation of editing. Just some form of post tags to indicate the category of a post (could even be specific to communities like subreddit flairs) but they would show up as hashtags on Mastodon, similar to how Lemmy already embeds a hashtag of the community into posts.
Do you plan to introduce some kind of post tags into Lemmy, preferably something that will behave like Hashtags on Mastodon and other activitypub platforms? I know that Lemmy has been embedding community name as a hashtag for a while now, though having tags that can be populated by users would help discovery greatly.
So do it anyway, not like they could ever know. It’s not a very enforceable thing is it.
And the name is derived from an awful slur too. The history of that is really messed up.
Obligatory Goldberg link since lots of people these days are still unaware that SteamWorks DRM is easily bypassed these days (you don’t even need to patch the files, you can just bypass it).
PTB. Anyone who knows better is aware that MBFC is extremely biased, their ratings should be taken with a grain of salt. Lund doesn’t care and instead chooses to believe their word as gospel. It might even be intentional, Lund has shown in his behaviors and how he moderates a strong conservative and pro-zionist bias, which is concerning to say the least. Might be best to stay away from the communities he moderates.
Still a racist troll, you still deserve it by the way.
YDI, you have a long history of racist commenting and this isn’t even the worst thing you’ve said. Consider yourself lucky you weren’t banned much sooner for the racist garbage you’ve been spewing.
You stated that MFBC is biased but when asked to explain how you not only refused to explain how, but you lashed out at the person asking. YDI, you were being an entitled piece of shit, and are continuing to be one now.
Out of curiosity why was it removed anyway?
You chose to openly and willingly spew debunked transphobic talking points as well as thinly veiled transphobia. That was your choice. I’m sure that you knew very well that these types of exclusionary arguments aren’t taken well on platforms and communities which are protective of trans people or even run by trans people. YDI
Oh and about those preemptive bans, I don’t blame them, some of that is an automated part of Lemmy when doing instance bans for remote users, but even the ones where people manually banned you. I don’t blame them either, you’ve made yourself well known in holding and acting on transphobic and trans exclusionary beliefs, why would they want you posting and hanging out in their trans-friendly communities when they already know you’re someone to do that kind of shit.
That’s not really relevant in this case though, federated profiles don’t contain any of that information. They just contain the public posts and comments and anything the person might have added to their profile bio directly. They don’t contain personal information of any kind.
Maybe the reference is lost on me but I’ll assume this is another bad faith accusation.
@[email protected] @[email protected] This person is just asking for an instance ban at this point. I think that comment could be considered borderline sexual harassment.
That’s a really problematic choice in the software. Mod actions should not be excluded/ignored even when a remote user is site banned, that can create dangerous situations for your server by allowing all mod actions to federate but not to your server. It just seems like a problem waiting to happen.
PTB, banning people for sharing alternatives is shitty and comes off as you trying to gatekeep your community and prevent people from learning about alternatives.
Also since @[email protected] decided to comment, it doesn’t matter if the Rest of the team agreed with you or not, that just makes all of you PTB as well. The fact this was even considered as a good idea and implemented to suppress knowledge of alternatives makes it PTB.
If anyone is reading this, stay away from that mod’s shithole and go to [email protected] instead. It’s more active and isn’t run by PTBs.
I agree with you that no one should really mention their age, though I don’t agree with you that there’s a point where it doesn’t matter. You’ll find plenty of groups willing to discriminate against older individuals, gaming groups, activist groups, STEM groups, it’s weird but it’s unfortunately a thing.
Lemmy.world has a problem with over modderation when it is out of scope in situations like this, they also have a problem with undermoderation letting shit slide that shouldn’t like Reddit did. Lemmy.world has a lot of very big problems right now and they shouldn’t be cut slack of any of them, even if it is obvious how it happened.
It looks like a piece of jewelry with a glowing stone in it. The outer edge of it look like some kind of metal.
