I updated my family members pc to windows 11 a few weeks ago and it wouldn’t let me login without a Microsoft account. That was insane to me.

How is this different than before?
Feels bad. Tux getting called fat
It’s a joke, I like children no matter how annoying.
Edit: never mind I misinterpreted your comment.
Wanting to murder a child I can understand but you’re not supposed to actually do it. Wtf is wrong with people these days.
I had an issue with scrolling. I would scroll down and sometimes it would scroll up. I put up with this for months thinking it was probably a linux issue and would be fixed with updates. Until today when I plugged a different mouse in and realized the problem was my mouse. I tried turning the mouse upside down and rubbing it vigorously across the carpet like reddit suggested but it didn’t fix it so I gave up.
As for linux issues I have switched to Wayland full-time after at least 30+ attempts and it seems to work now except for a flameshot issue which I fixed via a kwin rule and my steam client glitches out when I open the library but it fixes itself if I resize the window.
This is going to be such an awesome addition. I saw an interview with one of the guys working on the project and it sounded so cool. I think the interview was on tech over tea with David Vernet. Great talk about the magic box thay is the Linux kernal.
What does a democratic workplace look like? I’ve seen it work on a small scale but I can’t see how having people voting on the direction of the company has any value when their job is not relevant to making those decisions.
The democracy comes in the form of shareholders. If you want a say in the company you must purchase part of the company and then you get a vote.
I think thats for the following reasons. Because the c manager understands the value of investment long term and they believe they can impact the company in a positive way. They also likely have more disposable income.
A factory line worker has very little control over the performance of the company. He wants his weekly pay to be in full cash and that’s it because he either has less disposable income or doesnt understand the value of investment.
If the line worker wants to invest he would likely invest in another company than his own unless his company was preforming exceptionally well.
It would be very very bad for world if the folks at Kaspersky turned to black hat activity
I work at in a place that has 1000s of these piece of shit probooks. There is so much marketing about environmentalism yet these laptops are e-waste after 4 years if they even last that long. No one repairs any thing.
It’s not a prerequisite. It’s just an option that’s available to anyone who wants to own part of a publicly traded company. If you want to own it in the traditional sense go be a tradie plenty of tradies run their own operations.
It’s more that investing in the place you work sucks because you know how shit of an investment it is. Most people would rather own shares in the s&p500 than their place of work.
What a weird bastard
Very few workers want to own their means of production. They just want a paycheck for their labor.
Runelite flatpak probably.
It takes a special person to jump into a complicated task struggle and then pick up and even more complicated task and end up succeeding.
Windows 10 years -> macOS 6months -> Windows 10 years -> mint 1 week -> Ubuntu 1hr -> Garuda 30mins -> endeavor 1hr - > arch 1 day (I got filtered) -> manjaro 1 year -> fedora 1 week -> nobara 6 months.
I did manage to install arch on an old chromebook but I find configuring things from scratch annoying and I like it to be configured well be default and I’ll change it if I want to.
Its embarrassing that people are downvoting a post providing context. They’re acting like you are here defending the cyber truck.
People who spend that much time configuring linux are doing it for fun. Majority of people switching to linux have a working install setup in less time than it takes to install windows
