just dump them both and their first replacements in a black hole and things will potentially improve.
I do that all the time too.
in the article someone with a successful business is worried about home affordability and retirement. elsewhere someone with an unsuccessful business is worried about both of those things plus the business bleeding money. I’m referring to myself. I ended my so called business, quitting while I was behind because there is no getting ahead of the explotative big players without drowning in stress and never having time to relax or enkoy life.
Now try being a mid 30s millenial that couldn’t even make it running a business
mine takes a whole minute. I just run it for the duration of the first log.
surely they still do that. even my younger siblings got their turns. we even got to watch the dumb old duck and cover video with the turtle.
ffs: fuckfuck shit
get ready to be nailed by stuck at 100% throttle hunk of low grade stainless on wheels, on taxpayer dollar. pray that it rains and you may live.
most people I have dealt with can’t even get on the internet if the browser icon moves a few spaces over. regular settinngs menus are out of the question for them, let alone an extra program for settings with names that don’t reflect their purpose in a laymans eyes. On the other hand I have had pretty decent success telling people to press win+x, release the keys, press a or whatever for cmd/powershell then copy paste a one liner, assuming a cmd/powershell command is available for the issue. or making a registry file they can double click.
i still don’t understand why people are scared of command line when a lot of the fixes for windows bullshit require it in addition to registry editing, and also sometimes gpedit which is enterprise only now iirc.
I always hit the slash instead and the short shift messes me up too. although I switched to grid aligned 1u keys for everything recently and other boards were put up for free for a month or so and anything unclaimed went to the electronics pile at the transfer station.
the only irl person I know says it like: “no, shit-sherlock” and that’s just how I read it in my head now
don’t forget de-extend
I’ve been using bazzite for a chunk of time now on my steam deck and on my Thinkpad. You can generally do most things. Gaming obviously works fine though the Thinkpad with it’s old CPU and incomplete vulkan support can’t launch a lot of games but that’s not a distro thing. I have been able to sideload apps onto a quest VR headset with it after some tinkering with udev rules and distrobox. I couldn’t figure out how to flash the firmware of my pinecil soldering iron though. I also do all my 3d printing stuff on bazzite.
Most of the time you should be able to use distrobox to install stuff that doesn’t exist elsewhere. Several things I have used an arch box to install off the aur using the included helper paru, even though flatpaks and appimage may be available. From in the distrobox, distrobox-export is available to make the software available to bazzite as if it were native.
apparently no game mode, which I don’t use on desktop anyway. it’s basically just big picture with some differences in the nerd shit nobody normal cares about, and I think big picture might have been updated to look the same too.
