but not compatible
A pan-European deposit system would be a sign of true integration. And it wouldn’t even need all the countries to work, if Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Germany, and Austria could harmonize their iconography, the collected containers, and payout amount, that would already be fantastic.
Even the drinks industry should be a fan of that.
True but the caps are tethered now, so in any country with a deposit system they will most likely be returned.
The complaint of the person above me was that instead of throwing the cap in the sea, people now supposedly throw the entire bottle in the sea. (When I write it out like this, that sounds like complete nonsense … Those same people previously might have thrown away the entire bottle too).
That’s where a bottle deposit system could come in.
(Recycling rate actually means collection rate, but who gives a hoot.)
They’re in their 20s in a cafe, they’re probably spending own money.
It’s not just that, the tethered caps are usually redesigned versions of their untethered ancestors. As such, they often use less material than the original version, making them cheaper in the long run.
They are indeed called blackbirds.
Screensavers are normal programs, often written in C. The only issue is that this thing is not a fullscreen OpenGL app.
As this is a repost from 7 months ago, I am quoting a comment from @[email protected]:
Like many things sov cit this originates with something based in reality.
A long time ago in different places and different times, the coroner was separate from the police and sheriffs and was charged with investigating other officials if for some reason the usual officials could not, either because of a vacancy or conflict of interest. Coroners customarily have arrest powers. So if the local sheriff was completely corrupt, you might be able to go to the coroner to get a remedy.
The same could of course be true for a judge who is not doing their job. The problem with that is that judges typically have absolute immunity for their official acts and discretionary acts. The remedy for a corrupt judge is to go to the senior judge or to the governor. The other problem with it is that there’s also a civil remedy for a judge who is not doing their job called a writ of mandamus; it’s basically an application to an a equal or superior court for an order to require an official to perform their duty.
As always, legasthenics get their just deserts instead of—just—desserts.
The modern-style bed and nightstand are just as anachronistic.
Gotta make sure @[email protected] is ok…
