Donald Trump ripped into Iran and Israel for violating a ceasefire deal within hours of his triumphant announcement.

“You basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f— they’re doing! Do you understand that?” he told reporters Tuesday morning on his way to the NATO summit in The Hague.

The odds of us experiencing a loser of this caliber again in our lifetimes is pretty slim.

Interestingly enough, the odds of me ever having a shred of respect for this country again in our lifetimes is also pretty slim.

It’s one of those things. When you can’t find a better way to express your frustration as an educated person than resorting to dropping f-bombs, it is indicative of a low vocabulary.

Anyone else with a basic high-school education thrust into the spotlight would find a way to express themselves and their thought in a clear and cohesive way.

But they are obviously the ones who don’t know what the fuck they’re doing.

There was a time when I would’ve agreed with you. I still endeavour to this day to avoid profanity.

Today, however, I don’t agree that using “fuck” is at all an indicator of a low vocabulary (except in the case of overuse, but that’s true of any word). There are emotions that civil people aren’t supposed to feel, so we need words that we aren’t supposed to use to express them.

Fuck can be used to great effect, and should be.

Yea. Its not that he used the word “fuck”. It is in the context of working with Netanyahu, then seeing that Netanyahu has no real respect for Trump or the US military as long as they support his wars. So Trump gets flustered realizing his Israeli buddy has no respect for the US and then says “fuck”. It just hows Trump has no international relations abilities and he doesn’t know what is going on.

There are no words that can express the same as curse words. Otherwise, we wouldn’t use them as much.

Words are words. And they are used to communicate. I don’t understand the American panic about this small set of words. They are words like any other.

Non-american countries also have some people that panic about curse words, but I don’t think they match the level of panic of Americans.

Like even his syphillitic brain can’t not see what’s right in front of him forever, can it?

To other world leader’s he’s a joke. Someone who they can stroke his ego to get whatever they want, and then ignore him entirely and do whatever they feel like anyway.

“Israel…don’t drop those bombs” Israel had no intention of listening to him. Russia had no intention of listening to him. They make his sense of self importance skyrocket and so they say whatever they need to say to get him to do whatever THEY want him to do, and then don’t listen to him the rest of the time.

Is he really this fucking stupid?

You’ve been experiencing a cult of an idea. The Republican party has transformed into a cult of personality with no clear successor.

There are cults of personality that have successfully transformed into a cult of ideas. Mormons and Scientology are examples. However, in each case, the person at the center fostered a clear successor, and that successor was able to make it last in the long run by centering around ideas. Scientology still has that successor around (David Miscavige), but there isn’t really a specific person in charge of the LDS. Not in the same way. Their leadership is now interchangeable, but replacing their ideas is a harder sell.

Trump has no successor, and isn’t interested in fostering one. It’s not JD Vance; nobody respects him, including Trump. It’s not Musk; he made the mistake of trying to be more popular than the boss, and he’s not a natural-born citizen, anyway. It’s not Peter Thiel; he prefers to be the power behind the throne. It’s not any of Trump’s adult children; they’re nothing but spoiled rich kids. It’s not any of the people in his cabinet; they’re all plebes using booze and cocaine to get through the day. It’s not Tucker or Matt Walsh or any of the other right-wing commentators; they’d just eat each other trying to get on top.

In a dictatorship, the rise to power is extremely dependent on being popular. Once established though, not so much. I’m guessing JD Vance, Musk, or some other Trump family member would not have sufficient following and the whole thing would topple over, as is fairly common after dear leader dies.

Oh, no, they’ll devolve into infighting. There won’t be enough shared ideals and actions to sustain Republicans as a political force. There will be fringe groups that linger on for a while. After almost three centuries, there are still two people left claiming the Shaker tradition; that’s a group that forbids sexual relations even for procreation, so you can see how they’d have trouble gaining new members. But they’re not a religious group that anyone really cares about, either. That’s how MAGA will go eventually.

See also, Knitting Cat Lady, who is a former member of the Children of God cult, then the US Army, and then got a masters in organizational psychology around cults.

“You basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f— they’re doing! Do you understand that?”

Yes, we all understood that for a long time, and not just with this conflict - ironic you would say they “don’t know what the f- they’re doing”, though. Who would have thought diplomacy requires more than “I’m the ‘big guy’, so they’ll naturally listen to anything I have to say”. Who would have thought these long standing conflicts would require more than saying “let there be peace” to solve.

We all, nameless citizens of the world, have known it for a long time - even though we can’t do much about it - about Israel/Iran, about Russia/Ukraine, and so on. While you, toddler living in a golden bubble that you are, have been focusing exclusively on golfing and how to perfect the art of the grift, as well as securing golden parachutes from your grifter friends each time you manage to bankrupt a casino. So now you get to the big chair and think the chair is what gives you power, when in fact it was most of your predecessors’ hard work that gave so much power to the POTUS chair. The same power you’re now imploding.

At this point I’m wondering if there really was a ceasefire.

Everything this guy says is a lie until proven otherwise.

If I were a betting man, it seems very likely he just made the whole thing up. Perhaps he pitched the idea and was turned down by either Israel or Iran (probably both). Went to social media to proclaim his victory. Leading both countries to attach each other to show the whole thing was bullshit.

Let’s not forget, he claimed he was the lynch pin behind the India and Pakistan ceasefire, only to have both sides say he wasn’t involved at all.

If anyone thinks they’re going to be the one person who can stop that conflict, they’re absolutely delusional.
