Americans are the biggest cowards in the world.

What a fucking timeline, this is incredible 😳

Edit: and I don’t mean this in an insulting manner, I truly feel bad for them. Barbarians are taking over the Rome, everyone is fucked…

It’s just like in the playground; almost everybody want to stand up to the bully, but nobody has the guts. They are afraid the bully will call them names or attack. And when finally one does stand up, the others cowers in a corner.

Ah, the Geronocrats. Always been a disappointment throughout my entire life, before and after I became eligible to vote.

Not killed. The Impeachment can still procede, they’ve simply chosen not to do it now when Republicans hold house and senate majorities. The votes needed to remove Trump are 67, meaning you would need 20 GOP Senators.

Not kill, shelve. Let’s be honest, you weren’t going to get dozens of GOP votes in the house and 20 in the senate to remove Trump anyways. If you want Trump gone then the only way is helping the DNCs take a huge midterm majority.

I’m just waiting for all those gnashing their teeth at this to turn around and tell me “vote blue no matter who” in a couple of years/months.

I mean, things would be better if we had more Dems in Congress. Definitely not perfect, not even good enough, but slightly better than this shit show.

There might be more stuff you can do in addition to voting that people don’t want to discuss or encourage in public channels for a variety of reasons regardless of whether or not they would actually support that kind of stuff, but you may as well also vote if you can.

It’ll happen in the midterms, where suddenly we’re mesnt to ignore the last 6 years of policies from them and next year they’ll let Charlie kick the orange football.

Why would we want to impeach Trump?

Trump’s approval wasn’t affected, if anything it went up. Republicans increased their support of dear leader. It just wastes time and effort so we can say Trump was impeached.

And for what? Who cares? Are we trying to look good for the history books?

The fascists are infighting and Trump’s approval in tanking. Impeachments are more likely to reverse that than to accelerate the process.

People act like this counts as some appeasement or enabling of Trump… as if third times the charm! Two of these bombs were dropped on MAGA and did fuck all. It’s not exactly “pulling punches” to not waste a third one.

You do realize that the impeachment isn’t the goal, right? It’s just the first step. If you want to forcibly remove Trump while he’s still alive, you only have 2 options. 1) You need Vance and half of Trump’s cabinet to formally deem him incapable of executing the powers of the office and replacing him with Vance under the 25th amendment and then (when Trump pushes back) have 2/3rds of both houses of congress vote to agree he’s incapable. Or 2) Have a majority of the House vote to impeach him, and then have 2/3rds of he Senate vote to convict, which will result in his removal from office. Impeachment isn’t just a formal scolding. That’s called a censure. It’s an indictment of a crime that will then be tried in the Senate. In both cases of impeachment last time, the spineless Senate voted to acquit. But that doesnt mean that they won’t ever break ranks or that in voting to acquit they may lose votes as a result.

Rep. Al Green’s impeachment resolution was tabled on a 344-79 vote, with 128 Democrats joining all 216 Republicans to kill the measure.

The only time Dems and Republicans unite, is to say Israel is totally cool and we should give them more money…

I shouldn’t have to explain why that’s an issue.

Someone else told me the same thing earlier on a different comment…

        And I just gotta disagree.

I’ve been criticizing Israel’s monetary relationship with American politicians for about 20 years now. Before Facebook was invented even.

        Never been “cancelled”.

I didn’t want to explain it because I was being lazy. You can 100% talk about why it’s an issue, especially here. If you find yourself being “cancelled” then you may want to take a step back and re-evaluate what you are saying and looking into the validity of it.

I mean, right now we’re on one of the major communities on our instance, openly discussing it…

        No one is being “cancelled”

Except for maybe these folks plus the people we don’t know about in El Salvador

Mahmoud Khalil • Syrian‑born Palestinian and legal U.S. permanent resident. • Detained by ICE on March 8, 2025 in New York—reportedly without a warrant—under a rarely used immigration law citing alleged national-security concerns tied to his activism. • Held at LaSalle Detention Center in Jena, Louisiana, for 104 days, separated from his family—including missing the birth of his son. • Released on June 20, 2025, after a federal judge deemed his detention unconstitutional, finding no flight risk or danger.

Mohsen Mahdawi • Palestinian U.S. green‑card holder and Columbia University student. • Arrested by ICE on April 14, 2025, at a citizenship interview in Vermont . • His detention prompted immediate habeas corpus filings; held in St. Albans, Vermont. • Released on April 30, 2025, after a federal judge determined his detention likely aimed to suppress free speech.
