Now the justice department is chasing Google who despite being bad, at least provides enough source code where people have created privacy-focused derivatives of Android. I’d much rather see them go after Microsoft first but the government relies on Microsoft, and Microsoft relies on our tax dollars going to the government so they can get them.

Since Satya Nadella became CEO, Microsoft has advertised itself as a pro-opensource company despite never open sourcing its primary consumer-facing products like Windows & Edge. This initially attracted a lot of open source developers that Microsoft gladly hired, to turn around and turn their OS into a spyware organization.
Microsoft learned that if they collected a bunch of data and shared it with the intelligence agencies, while making their OS a telemetry warehouse that tracks nearly everything you do, then they’d be able to attract and onboard the entire US government while making it nearly impossible for them to switch away in the future. At this point forensic companies aren’t shy that Windows is the worst choice for privacy.
Kill Google, kill Apple, kill Meta, kill Amazon. I’m not sure whether killing Apple is necessary - despite their problems, they at least have an honest business model (of profiting off a cult). I think yes, split them too.
I’m not going to defend Apple against being broken up, but those other companies are on a whole different level when it comes to invasion of privacy.

At least the Aptos default typeset they use is better than Calibri. I hate Calibri but I can’t quite articulate why. Maybe because it’s the default and I’ll hate Aptos eventually too.
Aptos kerning is trash in spreadsheets.
Calibri isn’t strong enough in it’s convictions to be Helvetica. It can’t even offer a fight against the hard utilitarianism of Arial. It’s rounded corners and varying thickness show up terribly on anything but the highest resolution screens, where it still isn’t good, and it makes me feel the same way that CRT monitors did when I put my hand up to them. You know the feeling, that crusty, fuzzy, buzzy feeling that you swear you could taste.

My favourite font is Apple San Francisco, but Inter is the closest font I’ve found that I can actually use in my projects. Along with an option to switch to Open Dyslexic of course!
Mine is Cantarell (GNOME default font) even though I use KDE Plasma.

More of an AC Milan man myself, or at least I was back in their 90s heyday. I don’t really follow the Serie A that much these days 😛
